Luke 2:18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

Christmas day was so busy with cooking and enjoying company i missed a few good posts from some of the people I scan for news and commentary on the internet. Yes I know if it’s on the Internet it might be fake news.....but I’ll leave that to your own discernment.

Even though it is after Christmas Day, December 25th, we can still reflect on these.....

Since they all carry a heavy dose of teaching about the Shepherds, and since I love the KJV reading so dearly, here is that Text and the Audio link. The audio is the whole chapter.

The Internet links are below.

I underlined a few words that tell some facts, (not fake news) of this event.

How many get visited by an angel, let alone the multitude of the heavenly host....so many angels present here. As is universally common they were “sore afraid”! This happenned “by night”, on the day Christ the Lord was born. They were given a specific sign. The birth in the manger may have been circumstance driven, but all things are under God's soverign will and control, and this was a specific sign to them and to us, which facts they did not keep hidden. Life seems to then go on: the shepherds returned to their flocks and Mary and Joseph continue on with their lives, taking the child for circumcision and later for the purification rites and sacrifice. But this was just the beginning.....

The Shepherds and the Angels
Luk 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Luk 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luk 2:12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
Luk 2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Luk 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Luk 2:15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
Luk 2:16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
Luk 2:17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. Luk 2:18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
Luk 2:19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luk 2:20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. Luk 2:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
