Faith, Hope and Charity

It was a strange weekend fishing with Andy.

On Saturday we fished (or tried to fish) the three valley's mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13.



...And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. KJV

These are three beautiful valleys nested along the West Carson River.

We first found Hope in Hope Valley each catching a medium sized trout and having a nice walk until all the late rising people began to arrive.

We next tried to fish Charity Valley, but were locked out....signs posted all along the route telling us that Charity was a private valley....that's ironic, since charity means love and you would think that everyone would want to spread their love around, rather than keeping it to themselves. And this is suppose to the greatest of these....

We drove on to Blue Lakes but the resort I thought rented boats was actually in Upper Lake (nowhere near here) so we were skunked again with no fishing.

Finally we hit the jackpot, fishing the afternoon in Faith Valley and learning the true meaning of our Faith that we would find fish...finding and landing so many small wild fish we stopped counting.

They were small but this just confirmed that what we had learned in the Bible.

Matt 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. NIV

These were small fish in Faith Valley and we Hope that they will grow bigger because we would Love to catch them again someday.
