The power of little "i"

I rarely put comments on other's blogs but I did add this to one of Justin Taylor's

Andy’s comments are a good read.

I’ve often pondered the Apple symbol and their success. The product names: iPod, iPhone, iPad are interesting in that they all begin with the little “i”.

This is the beginning and end of Job’s gospel. It reflects the best of the world’s thinking and reflects some valid truths.

Though the leaders of that faith don’t deny themselves, their best work has a servant character and does lead to the betterment of their community. They have a deep faith and commitment to what they believe.

One final “i” word. The word for one who follows idols is spelled either idolator or idolater. It’s interesting that you can break this apart to get “i do later”, which explains in part what one who follows his/her own perception of truth is doing…putting the real gospel on hold, avoiding the real God until later or maybe never at all.

This is a sadness that covers the world. And it shouldn’t be….just reread John 3:16
