An interesting aside is he quotes Jesus saying:
 

My desire is for you and I greatly delight in you. If you have ears to hear, I am constantly singing to you in the gospel.

Would be interesting to reflect on who has ears to hear and how did they get that ability. I'm thinking that this relates to the concept of election and the quickening work of the Holy Spirit....and begins in the heart.
