A Year in Reading the Bible

Those that know me know that I've been following Prof. Grant Horner's 10 Lists Bible reading program now since the beginning of 2012.

Under this program you read 10 chapters a day. All from different books of the Bible and the program never repeats the same chapters again.

At the end of 2012, I had completed 250 days of reading so you can see that there were many days that I missed.

That said, at that time I had completed reading through every chapter of the Bible at least once and many several times and I had read 2500 chapters of the Bible which is more than two times the entirety of the number of chapters in the Bible.

Beginning in 2013 I switched from using the ESV version of the Bible to the K JV version of the Bible.
Having been exhorted by someone in my Sunday school class and other writers to read through the Bible in the King James, I decided to dedicate this year to doing that.

This week I'm passing another milestone I've already read 361 days worth of the Bible which is more than a biblical year of 360 days. And in the next few days will reach the 365th milestone, God willing, completing one full year in the Bible under this program.

Shortly I will pass the milestone of having read 1200 chapters(the Bible has 1189) of the Bible in the King James version and I will be halfway through reading every chapter in the Bible in the KJV.

I have written about my experience in the King James version and plan at some point to give more specifics. In brief I do find it extremely enlightening and quite understandable and to have an amazing spiritual depth.

If you want a sample you can see the profound teaching in today's set of reading which is listed below.

Individual References

The interconnection of the Bible is constantly showing fourth. A very simple example is found in the word "perfect" that shows up in today's reading.

Mat 5:48    Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

1Ki 8:61    Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

There is much profound teaching in these 10 chapters and I leave it to you to pursue.
