Little Words

It's curious how the little words that Luke uses in the Book of Acts validate the bigger messages.

Reflecting on these words one doesn't just casually make this up.

Act 20:3    three months. 

Act 20:4    Sopater, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius and Timotheus;  Tychicus and Trophimus.

Act 20:6    days of unleavened bread, five days; seven days.

Act 20:7    first day of the week, midnight.

Act 20:8    many lights

Act 20:9     Eutychus, 

.

Act 20:13    Assos,

Act 20:14    Mitylene.

Act 20:15    next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.

I think you will agree  that although these words add nothing to the content of the message that Paul goes on to preach, they certainly give credibility that Luke captured accurately what he's about to say.

Act 20:17    And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

Act 20:18    And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,
