Proverbs 1 The Greedy

I posted earlier today how God is not a "respecter" of persons.

Pro 1:10    My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

Pro 1:11    If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

Pro 1:12    Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

Pro 1:13    We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

Pro 1:14    Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

Pro 1:15    My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

Pro 1:16    For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

Pro 1:17    Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

Pro 1:18    And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

Pro 1:19    So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

There are many classes of the greedy.

Obviously the greedy rich who purposefully oppress the poor.

But also the greedy "elite" who desire to rule and control and who often oppress all, and become in many ways like the first.

There are also the greedy poor who covet and desire what others have.

And finally, the greed mob or majority, who are often manipulated by those mentioned above, and force their will on the minorities...to their own gain.

The Bible neither supports a rich greedy economy nor a poor greedy communistic society.

There is a call to be diligent in being willing to share your gain and blessing though.

Eph 4:28    Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Job 31 as well as Acts 4-5 if read truthfully have something to say about being freely generous to those truely in need. I ask you read those on your own,.

2Th 3:6    Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

2Th 3:7    For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

2Th 3:8    Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

2Th 3:9    Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

2Th 3:10    For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

2Th 3:11    For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

2Th 3:12    Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

2Th 3:13    But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
