The Themes of the Sweet 16’s....

I guess it is just that the Bible has a limited number of verse numbers, but it is interesting that verses numbered 16 do seem to often carry some strong message of meaning. In other words this is just random chance.

Rom 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Rom 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

2Ti 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti 3:17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

In today's reading, we find some harsh words.

Mar 16:15  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mar 16:16   He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Joh 3:18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Note this last theme of the condemnation of the unsaved is reported by the apostle Paul, also in today's reading in 1 Corinthians.

1Co 16:22  If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.
