Numbers 1 - Are we numbered?

Ok the bad news....

Rev 20:15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Yes I quoted it...( sounds of readers fleeing, heard in the background).

But to those who remain.

Rev 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Joh 6:37  ♥️  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

These verses are out of context, so I urge you to read the full context.

Numbers starts with this often repeated phrase..

Num 1:3  From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.

Btw this is pointed at the men...v2 "every male by their polls".

I have long left viewing our calling as the kingdom now or Joel's army teachings of ruling the world for Christ.

But men are called to be numbered in true faith....we do have a job to do.

Eph 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

1Th 5:8  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

Read in context what Paul writes for the details. ( Trying to be brief)

We can do no better than doing these two things, reading scripture and praying.

1Ti 2:8  I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

2Ti 3:15  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

2Ti 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti 3:17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Paul writes these verses to Titus to teach to men young and old.

Tit 2:1  But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Tit 2:2  That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

Tit 2:6  Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

Tit 2:7  In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

Tit 2:8  Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

The apostle John writes still more.

1Jn 2:13  I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

1Jn 2:14  I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

Do Not Love the World

1Jn 2:15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1Jn 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1Jn 2:17  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
