Romans 4 - A passage for our Soul

We know our condition.

Rom 3:10  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Psa 14:1  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There isno God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

This makes today's reading so much the more powerful.

Rom 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 3:28  Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Chapter 4 explains this more fully...giving examples.

Rom 4:3  For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Rom 4:6  Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Paul concludes.

Rom 4:20  He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

Rom 4:21  And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Rom 4:22  And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

Rom 4:23  Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;

Rom 4:24  But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

Rom 4:25  Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Rom 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live byfaith.

Gal 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now livein the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Gal 3:11  But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Heb 10:38  Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

This is of utmost importance for us to hear.

Mat 10:28  And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

1Th 5:23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
