Proverbs 26 - Fool's Gold

God's word is useful, I've mentioned one of my favorite verses is:

Pro 17:28  Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips isesteemed a man of understanding.

Pro 26:1  As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.

Pro 26:3  A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.

Pro 26:4  Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

Pro 26:5  Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

Pro 26:6  He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.

Pro 26:7  The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

Pro 26:8  As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.

Pro 26:9  As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

Pro 26:10  The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.

Pro 26:11  As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

Pro 26:12  Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

We could find no better place to start than with the riches of God's own words in the Bible.

Psa 19:7  The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Psa 19:8  The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Psa 19:9  The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

Psa 19:10  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Of course if one rejects God first then one does not need to follow his law.

Psa 14:1  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heartThere is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Psa 53:1  To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heartThere is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

And just for good measure, Jesus and Paul make these connections....not the little word "all".

Mat 28:18  ♥️  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Mat 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mat 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

All Scripture Is Breathed Out by God

2Ti 3:10  But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

2Ti 3:11  Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

2Ti 3:12  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

2Ti 3:13  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

2Ti 3:14  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

2Ti 3:15  ♥️  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

2Ti 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti 3:17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
