Proverbs 1 & 2 - Another beginning...

This is the 2nd cycle to begin again today... Coincidentally since Proverbs has 31 chapters it will repeat every other time with Job.

Today it's almost depressing. I was thinking there is so much to teach and learn in these readings. And so little real time spent in God's word today....oh, yes we get small pieces of it, but mostly it comes from the trove of books that the most popular writers put out that spin their own insights.

How wonderful if we had Sunday Schools that taught just through the words of the Bible. There is enough here for a month of teaching just in these two chapters. Reading and exploring the definitions of words and the echoes of these words throughout the Bible.

Pro 2:20  That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

Pro 2:21  For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

The Beginning of Knowledge

Pro 1:1  The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

Pro 1:2  To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

Pro 1:3  To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

Pro 1:4  To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

Pro 1:5  A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

Pro 1:6  To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

Pro 1:7  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
