Public discussion of Faith and Hell

I like to think of this as the follow on to the "God is dead" discussion of a few years back.

So now we have been having a great public discussion about the funeral of Hell: I'd ask "Is Hell dead" now too?

It's too much to list all the discussion of this subject but you can find links that will take you around it on a great tour by starting with these:

TIME - Justine Taylor within the TIME link itself you can also find the link back to the original "God is dead" article; also see Albert Mohler

Two great links a friend also found are: Randy Alcorn which has the cross link to Kevin DeYoung's original 10,000 word review of Rob Bell's book; and Dan Franklin Audio. There are many more....

What is truly amazing is that this discussion has become so public...in little over a month.

I can't help but once again thinking about Matt 24:14 and the proclaiming of the gospel. Anyone who reads any of these posts or articles will get a chance to see the message and teaching of the gospel. It's amazing that this actually makes it to the cover of TIME. So not only those in the Social Network are getting the message those still tied to the traditional media also see it. The question is do we see and hear it?

Deuteronomy 29:4
Jeremiah 25:4
Ezekiel 12:2
Zechariah 7:11
Mark 4:9
Mark 4:23
Luke 14:34-35

And we should not forget the idea of general revelation and common grace. This started in the creation and garden with the pronouncement of it was "good" and "very good".

Rom 1:18-23

God calls us to a perfect love. Matthew 5:43-47 (be sure to read the whole passages:)

John writes a great deal about this: 1 John 4:10 / 1 John 5:3 / 2 John 1:6
As well as the Gospel of John

John 10:17
John 10:18
John 15:13

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends."

As we come to Easter this year we can be truly thankful that we have so great a love lived and given for us and we can proclaim to world. Rob Bell from what I have read is not the enemy, and even if he were as Christian's we would have a command to love him, but not agree with his teaching. What's so amazing is that just like so many Bible events, God can turn around and use this for his purpose of proclaiming the Gospel.

Matthew 28:18-20
Romans 1:16-17
