There is a significant message of rememberance discussed in both Jude and 2 Peter.
If we are truely part of both God's invisible and visible church, having been chosen before the foundation of the world, having heard the call of the gospel, having been given the grace of the effectual call of the Holy Spirit openning our hearts and giving us a new birth in Christ we too are called to remember. Perhaps this is part of making our election sure and working out in this life our salvation, this task of rememberance....
The early church devoted itself to the apostle's teaching.
Act 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Act 2:43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
We still have the teaching not only of the Apostles, but Christ himself, along with Moses and the Prophets available to us today in God's word, the 66 books of the Bible. Whether we read it, or study it, or listen to it or memorize it we are remembering what God has taught us.
Don't let anyone diminish this, let it be said we continued stedfastly also.
Peter and Jude both exhort the hearer's of their letters to remember, we could do no better to likewise remember our own faith.
2Pe 1:12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
2Pe 1:13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
2Pe 1:15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.
2Pe 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
Jud 1:5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
A Call to Persevere
Jud 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Jud 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
Jud 1:19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Jud 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Jud 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
Jud 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Doxology
Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Jud 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
