Isaiah 51 - So much in here...From the Beginning to the End!

Again there is so much connection in this chapter, and not the least is the essence of history and the gospel of salvation. I must say too that the benefit of the KJV is that the more you read it the more the Holy Spirit opens the text up in all it's dimensions of depth. It's been said the KJV is an excellent translation of the best Hebrew and Greek texts, the vast majority texts, and was done by godly scholars who worked under not the direction of King James but under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  This was a unique event that God arranged in his perfect timing to bring to the Engish tongue the inspired Word of God. There may be other translations but nothing I've found in English that captures what the KJV does. The echoes in the text are almost heavenly.

I'll comment briefly on three verses..

Isa 51:2  Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

Note God called Abraham alone.....

From verse 13....the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth;....

And

Isa 51:15  But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name.

Isa 51:16  And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

When we get to the end of the story we have..

Isa 51:11  Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Isa 51:6  Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

You can read about that in the Book of Revelation. Maybe take time to read the ending chapters 20-22, or the whole book in full.

Perhaps when we lose sight of the literalness of God's creation in the beginning, which we read in Genesis History Chapter 1, we also lose our belief in God's ending, in these chapters.

Rev 21:10  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Rev 22:17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Rev 22:18  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Rev 22:19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Rev 22:20  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Rev 22:21  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
